Welcome to Cincinnati Nature Center
Our mission is to inspire passion for nature and promote environmentally responsible choices through experience, education, and stewardship to ensure a sustainable future.
 
Cincinnati Nature Center's two sites Rowe Woods and Long Branch Farm & Trails comprise over 1,600 acres of irreplaceable natural and agricultural land, making it one of the top 10 nature centers in the country. Cincinnati Nature Center's education programs reach 12,000 school children each year with hands-on lessons about ecology, and help ensure responsible stewardship of the land well into the future.
Rowe Woods
 
Located east of Milford, Rowe Woods consists of 1,025-acres of fields, forest, ponds and streams. This original Cincinnati Nature Center site boasts 18 miles of hiking trails for visitors to explore and enjoy. Educational programs for people of all ages take place in this outdoor classroom, teaching the interdependence and diversity of the natural environment. Visitors can easily spend an hour, a day or all four seasons exploring what Rowe Woods has to offer.
 
Long Branch Farm & Trails
 
A gift from Neil and Camilla McElroy in 1973, this 582-acre plot of agricultural and natural land is an invaluable teaching tool. Visitors to Long Branch Farm & Trails learn about livestock, sustainable farming, and rare, exposed layers of Ordovician fossils. Within its scenic pastures, meadows, woodlands and crop fields, the ecology of sustainable agriculture is nurtured and the heritage of this vulnerable land is preserved. Four miles of hiking trails wind through this unspoiled and peaceful area near Goshen. Hiking trails are open to CNC members daily. This site is open to the public only during programs and events.
The Nature Shop

Cincinnati Nature Center carries a variety of interesting and unusual items in The Nature Shop at Rowe Woods. The Nature Shop is located in the Rowe Visitor Center. Proceeds from retail sales help support our mission.
  • The Nature Shop at Rowe Woods is open seven days a week, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Closed holidays.
  • Shop Online-You can shop & support Cincinnati Nature Center 24-hours a day, seven days a week, from any computer. We've partnered with OnlineNatureMall and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to give you added shopping convenience while still benefiting CNC. (CNC receives 10% of the proceeds from sales.)
